New Paragraph
Here at Gryphon Publishing Consulting, we are just a teeny tiny fish in the vast ocean of publishing. Like so many members of the publishing industry, we are just making our own path, figuring things out step by step. Just like the actual ocean there are a TON of little guys, but they sometimes don't have their voices heard because they're drowned out by the bigger fish in the room.
But, there are some organizations that make things a little bit easier for everyone in their communities. One such organization is the Independent Book Publishers Association, or IBPA. They foster collaboration and educate on less understood topics. They advocate and they provide resources to be successful. They forge new paths and navigate the often tricky terrain that new businesses in publishing, authors, and creators often face.
We’re pleased to announce that our President, Mary Jo Slazak Courchesne has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the IBPA! Why is this so exciting? For starters, the Independent Book Publishers Association has several parallel values to Gryphon Publishing Consulting, including education, a strong code of ethics, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in publishing. They also believe in upholding the highest standards in the industry, and making publishing accessible to all. We believe that Mary Jo's core values that she founded Gryphon Publishing Consulting with will help to support the mission and vision of the IBPA to create a better publishing industry for all who choose to work in it.
